IDEA Special Education Regulations - The US Department of Education Releases Special Education Regulations

On August 3, 2006, the U.S. Department of Education (USDOE) posted the newly released special education regulations on their website. The new regulations detail the obligations of public schools to children with learning disabilities and other types of disabilities. The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) was reauthorized in 2004, and the new regulations further interpret that legislation.

Parents of children with disabilities can now access this information and gain greater understanding of what schools' obligations to students in special education programs will be.

To access the regulations, right-click on the links below and save the files to your computer.
