It appears that the college is not willing to provide the level of services my high school did. Are there limitations on what colleges must do?
Answer: Yes. Colleges are not required to implement any accommodation that would lower or change academic standards to accommodate a disability. Colleges are not requires to make changes in programs or activities that would fundamentally change the nature of the program. Further, colleges are not required to provide accommodations that would cause an undue financial burden. Personal attendants, individually prescribed devices, readers for personal use or study, or other personal services such as tutoring and typing services are not required.
