Admissible Evidence - Learn about Admissible Evidence

Definition: Admissible evidence is information, documentation, or testimony that is allowed to be used in a due process hearings. Similar to admissible evidence in a courtroom, admissible evidence in a due process hearing cannot be irrelevant, immaterial, or violate hearsay rules or be legally objectionable.

Examples:
Hearing officers rule on documents and testimony and establishes whether they are admissible evidence.
