Definition: The Buckley amendment was added to the Family Educational and Privacy Act (FERPA). The Buckley amendment requires that schools provide an administrative process for parents to challenge and request changes to information in their child's education records that they believe are misleading, inaccurate, or inappropriate.
Examples:
The Buckley amendment gives parents the possibility of changing information in their child's educational records.
