Teachers begin teaching counting concepts in kindergarten and first grade. You can begin teaching your child skills that will build a foundation for counting before kindergarten. This will improve their readiness for other math concepts that will be taught in the future such as addition and subtraction. At around the age of 12 months, One of the first ways you can begin teaching your child about numbers and counting is to model using numbers yourself. Learn how.
