Quinn Bradlee - A Different Life

Sunday June 14, 2009
This week, I had the pleasure of speaking with author and filmmaker Quinn Bradlee, who was born with Velo-Cardial-Facial Syndrome (VCFS), a genetic disorder that typically involves learning disabilities, palatal defects, heart defects, and distinct facial features. The disorder can involve a wide range of characteristics and may range from mild to debilitating. An individual may have some characteristics and not others, meaning therapeutic treatment plans must be individualized based on each person's unique needs.

Quinn and I spoke about his most recent endeavor, A Different Life: Growing Up Learning Disabled and Other Adventures, a Memoir. The book was recently released along with the launch of a new social networking website entitled www.friendsofquinn.com. Quinn tells his story in a way that is at once irreverently funny, thought provoking, and full of universal truth. Learn more about Quinn's book, VCSF, and the Friends of Quinn website.
