Swine Flu, or more officially H1N1, has dominated the headlines online and on television. Chances are that your children have also heard about swine flu in school. My teenager is worried about whether we can still have her birthday party, and I confess to compulsively checking all the major news sites on the Internet. Even the word pandemic has an ominous sound to those of us who've read Stephen King's The Stand and watched movies like I am Legend and Quarantine. Much of what we see only raises more questions.

So what is a mother to do? Ask Dr. Koo. Her article on keeping swine flu in perspective has a lot less hype and a lot more helpful and reassuring facts than you'll find on CNN, CBS, ABC, the CDC, Fox, or NBC. I know. I've read them all. . . several times a day . . . all week long... (wink).
