Taking Assistive Technology to a Whole New Level

Wednesday October 8, 2008
Today I had a call from a parent concerned about lack of special transportation for her child who uses a wheelchair. We'll get it taken care of, but it was frustrating for the parent. I see her point. It is, after all, 2008. At this point, these basic issues should be a given. We should be dealing with more complex issues or finding better ways to accommodate children with physical disabilities.

On that note, I found a really interesting assistive technology story in that very spirit. Certainly, it is likely to be awhile before this device becomes available to consumers, but you've got to love the new technology developments that have such amazing potential to improve lives.
