LD Social Skills - Work on Social Skills for Back to School

LD Social Skills - One of the most important things your child with learning disabilities must learn has little to do with the three R's of reading, writing, and 'rithmetic. Social skills are important for success in school and in adult life.

Sometimes, in planning an individual education program for our children, we focus so much on the academic components, that the social skills are overlooked. This is especially true if our children do not have significant behavior problems at school. Whether or not we ultimately include social skills in an Individual Education Program, there are some things we can do to help our children build valuable social relationships that are so important to their self-esteem and sense of belonging. Check out these ideas to help your child make friends.
