Celebrate Independence Day with Educational Activities and Crafts
Tuesday July 1, 2008
July 4th is one of my favorite holidays, probably because it is so laid back and low stress. Celebrate with a simple day at the park with family and friends, rent patriotic videos, check out the latest American Girl film, or play games in your own back yard. Try these fun and educational activities to make this Independence Day memorable:
- Bake Patriotic Cake Balls and teach your child to read recipes, choose appropriate cooking tools, how to use an oven (with supervision of course), understand measurements, and how to clean up afterward.
- Manage your child's behavior during family gatherings.
- Enjoy Independence Day crafts.
- Holiday Pet Safety - Teach your child how to keep your family bird, cat, dog or other pets safe over the Independence Day celebration.
- Fourth of July Printables and Word Search
- Red, White, and Blue Recipes
- Read about heroes, symbols, and stories of the USA.
- Free Fourth of July Crossword Puzzles and More
- Patriotic Crafts for Teens
- Patriotic Scrapbook Resources
- Fourth of July Links and Lesson Plans
