A Child's Work is a Child's Play

It is so true. Children learn so much from interaction with others and through play. Developmental theorists have pointed to playtime as an important part of a child's development that builds language skills, social interaction, and early pre-academic concepts. Today, the research into children's play continues, and we learn more and more how complex play really is. Researchers Adele Diamond and Deborah Leong are studying the many benefits of play. Their research seems to suggest that imaginative play is an important precursor to learning self-control and behavior skills.

So, as it turns out, it seems that research has discovered the reason kids prefer to play with the box rather than the expensive toy. On that note, check out these wonderful toys and costumes that you can make with your child.
