Dating and LD Teens - Talking with Your LD Teen About Dating

Most of us look forward to the day our teenagers will ask permission to date with the same joyous fervor we reserve for paying taxes or spring cleaning. With Valentine's Day, tax time, and Spring just a few calendar pages away, many of us will be dealing with all three.

As the parent of a young adult with learning disabilities, you may be concerned about whether your child is ready to handle the responsibilities and pressures of dating, and with good reason. Children with learning disabilities may need help with managing challenging social situations that come along with dating.
